Who can post projects online?

When a customer signup at RentAResource, a validation is made on the person’s email account; making sure that the email address used is valid. A second validation is made on the customer’s credit card number through a third party agency to make sure that the customer is a real person who is posting the projects.

What does it cost to become a Service Provider?

Up to the end of September 2009, Service Providers will be able to enjoy our services for FREE. As of October 2009, RentAResource will become a subscription base site. Service Providers will have to pay a monthly fee to be able to use the system.

What is the difference between a Service Provider and a Customer?

A Service Provider is a person who has a profile setup on the RentAResource site and accepts to be invited to work on projects posted by Customers. The Service Provider will be able to preview the projects and offer bids to work on the projects. A Customer is a person who posts the requirements for the project and makes the final decision to engage the Service Provider. It is the role of the Service Provider to make sure that all the conditions are set before starting the project for the Customer.

During the selection process, would the Service Provider be able to see the Customer’s contact information?

When a bidding process starts, the Service Provider will have the opportunity to communicate with the Customer. The communication will be done anonymously so that the Customer can keep his/her identity secret. Some Customers would not want to be solicited during the bidding process. When the Customer makes his/her final choice, only the selected Service Provider will obtain the Customer’s contact information. The same applies to the Customer receiving the Service Provider’s contact information during the close of the bid.

How many projects can a Service Provider bid on?

A Service Provider can bid on as many projects as he/she can work on. RentAResource provides a calendar which could be used by the Service Provider to mark the days which he/she is not available for work.

How does the Rating System work?

The Rating System used by RentAResource is based on both the Customer and Service Provider engagement experience. At the end of the project, the Customer will be able to write a testimonial and rate the Service Provider who worked on the project. The same applies for the Service Provider; at the end of the project, the Service Provider will be able to rate the Customer and write a comment for the Customer. These ratings automatically get updated to the corresponding Service Provider and Customer profiles. Full satisfaction is rated with five shining stars and unsatisfied services will be rated with a dull one star. The Service Provider and Customer will not be able to update ratings left by either party. I travel a lot and I have limited access to the internet during the day.

How can I be notified when new opportunities are posted on RentAResource?

You can set you account to receive email notifications when new opportunities related to your field are posted on RentAResource. Once these opportunities are posted online, you will receive a notification email. We have plans to port our application to smart phones. Keep posted to use our application on iPhone.

As a Service Provider, would I be able to see who else is bidding on the project I am interested?

Yes, when submitting a bid to work on a project, every Service Providers bidding on the project will be able to view the rate offered by the other Service Providers. A preview of what other Service Providers are offering would help Service Providers to readjust their rates for the project.

As a Service Provider, can I partner with another Service Provider to offer a better solution to the Customer requirement?

With the current version of the application, you will not be able to collaborate with another Service Provider to offer services. In the future release, Service Providers will be able to collaborate and offer package solution to Customers.
